St. Brendan's Christian Fellowship
A Convergence Church*
To Top of Page
St.Brendan's Christian Fellowship commenced its services on December 22, 2002. St. Brendan's grew out of a vision for a new kind of worship community that would be evangelical, sacramental  and charismatic. The concept of a "convergent church" came from a movement with its beginnings in 1977 in what came to be known as "The Chicago Call," a gathering of evangelical leaders, including Peter Gilquist, Thomas Howard, Robert Webber, and Jon Braun, who shared a common vision, "a recovery of our common and apostolic roots for the faithful transmission of the Gospel."

Services are now held on Sundays at 10:00 AM in the beautiful stone chapel at 58 N. Main St. in Canandaigua. A typical service includes a time of blended song worship (modern contemporary praise choruses with some traditional hymns) followed by a service of the Word. Worshippers then gather at the altar and celebrate Holy Communion, receive a blessing and are dismissed to a time of fellowship. Newcomers are most welcome to join us. Just come in and take part in a "unique experience."

St. Brendan's became a parish of the Diocese of St. Cuthbert in communion with the Communion of Evangelical Episcopal Churches (CEEC) in August, 2004.

The St. Brendan's Community is always looking for interested families, couples and singles to partner with us in establishing this new and vibrant Christian community. Inquiries can be made on the Feedback  page or by calling (585) 398-0280.
